Interplexico Mexico Automates for Efficiency

Interplexico is a trusted technology solutions provider to businesses in the automotive, aerospace, science, and telecommunications industries.

At its automotive plant in Jalisco, Mexico, Interplexico identified a need to improve production efficiency for its automotive parts production lines. This improvement process required the upgrade of obsolete, low-repeatability automation equipment associated with the loading, unloading, and inspection of vehicle and transmission parts. 

In search of new equipment to streamline production, Interplexico reached out to Kopar, a distributor of industrial automation solutions. Kopar recommended Epson’s 8 kg C8 6-Axis robot as a solution for the terminal loading and unloading operation of Interplexico’s injection molding process.

UK-based Marlor Tooling invests in high-tech grinding technology

Located in Peterborough, England, Marlor Tooling has been designing and manufacturing cutting tools for more than 20 years. The cutting tool manufacturer specializes in delivering innovative solutions for the aerospace, automotive, energy, woodworking, and general subcontract markets.

Recently they invested in the ANCA MX7 Linear, which is a powerful, versatile CNC tool grinder designed for production grinding. It is built to meet the demands of high output, high precision manufacturing. The powerful 38 kW (51 HP) permanent magnet spindle provides high torque at lower RPM, which is ideal for carbide grinding and a wide range of other applications.

Advances in Machining Aluminum Aid the Shift to Electric Vehicles

Material choice and innovations in metal cutting are supporting the transition to more environmentally-friendly vehicles. And, demand for vehicles is increasing. According to a report by the International Transport Forum, global transport activity is expected to double by 2050 compared to 2015 levels. 

Producing more vehicles to meet increasing demand is inevitable — the real challenge is making them greener. The International Energy Agency (IEA) reports that transport already accounts for 24% of direct CO2 emissions from fuel combustion, with road vehicles accounting for nearly three-quarters of this figure.

At Automate Trade Show

This week’s Automate trade show in Detroit demonstrated the drive for flexibility on the factory floor.

There were robots of all sizes, with various lifting capacities and purposes. But there were also displays of devices that could be attached to robots as well as the software used to deploy robots and other machines.
